After looking at 173 different bottled waters and asking some very basic questions of the bottlers, like "What is the source of the water in the bottle?", EWG has released their Bottled Water Scorecard.
The results are less than stellar. A few companies made the cut by providing the key answers on their labels. Most companies didn't do very well. The report lists the results of their transparency or lack thereof.
This just underscores the need for consumers to give up their bottled water habit. Not only are buyers risking their health, they are paying up to 1900% more for water that is no safer, and sometimes less so, that tap water.
Filtered tap water is EWG's recommended cure for the bottled water habit. You can control what you and your family are drinking, you'll reduce the horrendous pollution problem caused by plastic bottles being tossed in the trash and you'll save money.
There are many ways to filter your tap water. One of the simplest and most effective is the Essence Water Filters. To see which model is right for you check out HealthyHome.com's selection of Essence Water Filters.
If you aren't drinking filtered water - you are the filter. Make the commitment to kick the bottled water habit today.
